worm harness

I have been tying my own worm harnesses and making jig heads this winter. It saves some money and passes the time during these long evenings. I wanted to get some opinons on blades for worm harness. I bought some solid colors orange and charturse and some of the fancy ones. I have had good luck on solid orange in the past. Do you guys think the holographic and more colorful blades are worth the money or do you do just as well with the solid colors. Also are the beads more of a noise thing or color thing.

I do really well on black blades with purple tape on them. Some guys get really into the color of the blades and the holographic ones, but i dont think it matters as much as the beads. Watch a worm harness in the water most of the color you are seeing is in the beads.

You'll get a million different opinions about worm harnesses...

We were lucky to try these(Dutch Fork Custom "Ghost Blades") this past summer as prototypes during the EPSFA Summer Slam and they caught fish 5:1 compared to standard metal blades. They continued to work the remainder of the season.

I firmly believe they contributed to our 1st Place finish for the exact opposite reasons standard metal blades catch fish. Think about it...
What I mean by that is...metal blades are flashy...these are not. Metal blades make noise...these do not. These can be run at higher speeds...metal blades cannot, they will blow out. The list goes on and on and....

Thanks for the input guys. Its hard to pick with all the different ones out there and the wife just gives me a funny look when I tell her I need to order more beads and blades. I really enjoy making them though. I even have my 10 year old daughter into it. I snell the hooks and she puts the beads and blades on.
