Sorry no river today even though I was itching to try out my new pole.   I could not find any adults to go with so I decided to drag my 12 yr old nephew out with me,  he had a friend so he came too.   Decided to forgo Sandy pond and head up to Sacketts Harbor in search for thicker ice and less people.   To my surprise the harbor had less ice than expected only good ice up to 300 or so yards out.   Probably could have fished my favorite place, but played it safe and went to the left into the marina where there was a solid 4 to 6 throughout.   Set up in my second favorite ice spot and fished for about 3 hours while the boys monkeyed around and played catch with the football.   I got 3  nice Perch and a couple of crappies and a few bites.   It was slow going.   A few groups around with tip ups and no flags all day.   As we were leaving another guy was setting up so I went to talk to him.  He said he cleaned up on crappies and perch just yesterday in the same spot I was at.  Just nothing biting today.   Gave him the rest of my perch minnows and he was much obliged , couldn't see dumping them down a hole.   It was a GREAT day on the ice, no wind and mid 20's and to top it off my nephew said.  "Uncle Clint, that was alot more fun than I thought it would be, when are we going again."    That made my day.
