out on the tundra,
or at least with someone who showed up in one. I had the pleasure of HT and crew fishing a lake near me today. Action wasn't off the chart , but lots of pike flags. I stuck with jigging and got 2 bass and a perch. I had one hammer handle cut my jig off at the hole. Good bunch of guys, I had a fine time. Tuna makes a mean breakfast sandwich. Thanks , Bro. I'd fish with these guys anytime. Charlie

Awesome, I am going to try and go out tomorrow. Sunshine and 35 should make for a nice day. Could not find anyone to go with so I asked my 13 year old nephew so we will be headed out tomorrow AM.

Had a great day with you and the gang Fichy.. I JUST got home !! The ride to & from hell.. A usual easy ride turned into a crawl in the am with a truck taking out the entire section of gaurd rail & closing down traffic.. Way home was all black ice.. Oh well , the fishing turned out great after the move.. We had LOT's of small pike to play with : Stayed until dark with the last flag up.. Super fun day , now tomorrow I'll be feeding the snot's and jiggin some pannies.. Time for night, night :) Thanks again Charlie for hanging out with us pranksters ..

Black Ice is good for icefishing, sucks for driving. Whilst you guys were slaying feesh, I was performing CPR on a Cooper's Hawk: Heard a loud thud against the window Sat afternoon - evidently Mr Hawk dive-bombed the backyard bird feeder for a meal and failed to pull back the stick in time to avoid collision. At first it looked dead from (broken neck). My first thought was - I wonder what Fichy is going to think when he finds a Cooper's Hawk wing in a ziplock bag in the fly swap package ). I pulled its little head out from under the snow and it blinked at me - or maybe it winked. Took it a good 5 minutes to get to its feet, and then it leaned against the line like a drunk against a telephone pole for awhile. Finally got enough bearings to fly off and roost up in da oak tree. I bet that his head hurts. At least he didn't take out the window. [/img] Ice down here barely over 4in on places I checked - not good enough for me yet. What goes around comes around, since I helped pick a critter up yesterday, I am now heading out in the pre-dawn hours to hopefully put one down... (New Moon, New Snow, Slightest of Breeze, Cold Temps - the odds are finally working a bit in my favor). later d00dZ

I had a similar thing yesterday. Was sitting and reading in the sunroom and heard a thud, looked out on the deck and there lay a snowbird in the snow.I went outside and dug him out and he was alive but apparantly in shock, picked him up and examined him and he was blinking and sort of gasping, carried him inside and wife got a box and some netting to keep him in there. After about a half hour or so I thought he might want to leave so I took him out and set him on a table,he just sat there so I brought him back in and put him in box.About a hour later after it got dark I thought I would check in on him. When I started to reach in there he took off and started to fly around in the house, after several failed attempts I finally recaptured him and got him in the box.Wife thought I should release him outside but I did n't know how that would work as it was dark and decided to wait till morning.Got him outside this morning and off he went to rejoin his friends, had a good feeling after that :)

In response to your Dark-vs-Light situation, I will share a Light-vs-Dark one. Several years ago back in the daze, I sat down on the couch after a ruff nite out on da town, Across the room I noticed this big black hole in the white lace curtains (yeah - I gotz white lace curtains DB!!). At first I thought I burned a big friggin hole in it somehow, but on closer inspection I discovered it was a big Bat hangin upside down from the curtain rod - like one of them vampire bats in S America. Tried to get it in a fishing net, but it became irate and started flying around the house. Their radar is great. I opened both slider doors and with an outstretched towel made it head out the door. It really bummed out when it hit the bright sunshine and exited stage left quicker than quick in search of a shadow. Upon further analysis of the situation, I discovered that the slider door on my back porch that goes into my bedroom was left full open - no screen. I guess I forgotz boutz dat a few hours earlier when I took a whizz off the deck and fell face first into ma bed. Bat figured it was an entrance to a cave and came in to check things out. If it drained any blood from me - I'm sure it caught a good JD buzz. I don't think the dark would have hurt the bird - just bummed him out a bit. later

Was asleep in my SR place bout a coupla months ago and had a dream bout something in my face- Kinda started waking up and felt a huge moth on my face- woke up and turned on a light and found a bat flying around the bedroom. Took forever to catch it - wont mention what happened to it. Had a torn screen on a bedroom window and think it got in there.

There is no such thing as Instant Karma Fichman.. F Lennon, Ringo sings through - you gotza pay your dues, if you want to sing the bluez.. -4deg on my first set this morning. working locator calls since it's mating season for yotes now. I had one sound off quickly. Sat silent for awhile and then made a couple challenge barks. 2 mins later a hard charger BIGGUN comes straight down the ridgeline via very steep embankment. I aimed and missed at 20 yards with #4buckshot. Dog made a sudden move around a log the same instant I pulled trigger. Bummer - I honestly wasn't ready for such a quick freight-train-like reponse. The adrenaline rush was fantastic - for both of us. After a misfire like that - I don't expect to hunt the same plot again for at least a week or two. They remember their educational experiences quite well. I sat back, had a smoke and let things settle. I decided to punish myself by getting some serious exercise and follow the dawg tracks for awhile. fresher than fresh: about a mile later dawg crossed pond - weak ice on swampy edges made me follow the shoreline and meet up with his tracks on other side: I made many circles and actually worked up a good sweat following Huckleberry Hound up/over ridgetops. Snow makes figuring out their routes so much easier - and besides a good workout I learned a few more good set spots for future use. Gotta get bait for this plot and trailacm this SOB. Tomorrow - I will check area where I hung a porky b4 the snowstorm yesterday. One of these days I'll start chasing fish again - but these friggin dogs drive me crazy. PAFisher - you asked b4 if I lived near the Big Lehigh: bout a 10 min walk from my house - quicker by car honey hole: later p.s. - a sincere apology to our beloved Mod Slammo. It was a cold day and I should have snapped a picture of the temp readout in my truck to further illustrate the adverse weather conditions - like all the cool troutbums on da SUK doo... YYYYYEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEHHHHAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Yesterday I got to fish with great folks and have fun.. Today I went to a local perch factory.. It's private but there were tracks from someone yesterday.. Besides thoes tracks therec was a bucket.. Inside that bucket was a Nice Vexliar-fl-18.. Nobody around today so I used that vex to catch a bunch of nice perch.. Well the internet works.. I found the owner and he will get his $400.00 equipment back.. I know I would hope for the same so it is (has) to be that way.. Good things happen if you look at it right :)

Just an ending.. Sorry for dragging this deep in the ditch RT.. I posted this on the ice site where I found the owner: Now the ending: Today Snot Rocket got his vex and bucket back The 30 Busch cans I recieved was a bonus along with using the vex for the day.. Win Win.. As Reel Force said I have been talking about a vex for a long time.. Been watching for deals but things have been tight and price holding steady.. Then Some Karma I was so inspired that good things still happen, when I got home I did some searching.. Found a great deal on an FL-18 Tri-beam w/ free shipping from a sponser here (fishusa) that I pulled the trigger.. I'm just stoked to be getting my own.. Thanks for all the well words and advice .. I will put ID on it Peace & Tuna
