carp in winter

Are they dormant? i may try for some if we get a day over 50 down at the slippery rock creek, anybody wants to join in or give some advice let me know

East side love is living on the west end

    The local pay lake i fish all the time held a contest new years eve 20 guys showed up and the fish hit pretty good.....

    Shallow ~4'. I managed a few cats too. They seemed to be a bit deeper ~8-10'. I've been trying for a few days since the first of Jan. as part of a bet to get the first cat & carp of the year.

    No, I rarely eat catfish. Years ago I lived down south and had a fair share, but these days I stick with the trout, perch, walleye, ... bluegill

    I like channel cat, its just difficult around here to catch them in a place where they aren't loaded with mercury or some other contaminants, etc.

    Good job, you'll probably have me beat by 4 months. Haven't put the time in personally yet to find winter cats and carp. I am determined to eat a 24"ish flathead this year, just one though...

    These were caught in water that is considered less than *select*, according to the advisory it appears that PCBs are the problem.
