Any Ice at Donegal?

Just wondering if anyone has any info on Donegal lake is there any ice now? would you expect to see safe there ice by late next week?

I would go check it out myself but it's about a 45-50 minute drive from my house. I hope to take my 4yr old son out ice fishing for the first time some time this winter, but no way am I taking him out on ice that is questionable.

I know no one can look into a crystal ball and tell me for certain, just wondering what some of you more experienced guys would expect, or what you are actually seeing.

Any info would help, and you can PM me if you don't want to just put the info up on here.
Thanks in advance.
Tight lines, & God Bless.

I live fairly close to Donegal Lake, though I haven't seen the lake I would say there is no ice yet. Even if there was I would bet to say you wouldn't want to walk on it. The Weather has been way too warm to form any fishable ice safely, not even on farm ponds. Supposed to get colder starting Thursday night.

Yea the ice fishing industry is taking a big hit in this area this winter. But on the upside bank fishermen are reportedly doing pretty good on Trout at a lot of places.

i haven't been past donegal lake in awhile, but i stopped at acme dam. there was about 1\2" of ice on most of the lake. with this rain today, the ice may be all but gone.

Thanks for the info Sam. With the cold temps coming tonight I'm hoping that maybe by Tuesday there will be fishable ice. I'll call Scott's bait shop Monday to see. If I decide to go I'll put it up on here in case anyone wants to join me. (don't think it would be smart to go alone )

    thanks again.
