Tracker PT 175

I have a Tracker PT 175, thinking about putting a 4 stroke 20hp on the back. Any ideas about top speeds(average load two fishermen). I have a 2 stroke 25 hp now and get 24mph top on good calm days. Any input would be great...

    My thoughts are your new top speed would be 19-21mph. It also may be more labored for the boat to plane out. I can understand the 20hp reasons (hp limit lakes) Personally you will have to think about whats important to you. Better speed and power, or more lakes.

    You can alway have a kicker for the HP lakes, just a thought

    Are you going to use your boat on erie or mostly in the bay or elswhere

    I split most of my time between rivers and 20hp lakes. I love the lakes but can only use the trolling motor as of now. Rivers are closer and not as busy as the lakes.

    Four strokes have come a long way, but then again so have two strokes. I think you'll be disappointed in the four stroke 20 after using the 25. You will be legal on restricted lakes though...

    Im pretty sure thats the same boat my brother has with a 20hp, we get around 16-18 with 2 people
