12/9 report

Started out one of those days, spilled a tackle bag loading up at 6am, broke the trailor plug at the gas station stopped and fixed it in a snowstorm in camden at the napa. After crossing the new bridge in pineville getting ready to turn right my buddy slides his car into the gardrail. So then Im telling him in the parking lot as were suiting up when I have crazy mornings like this I always crush the fish and we did just that. As I have always said high water means hard metal and thats what they wanted, caught the first fish 20 feet passed the launch in altmar, ended up landing 7 and having 12 on. Boat traffic was super low as was shore anglers witch is another reason I went with plug rods, when there is knowone on the water I can let 4 or 5 rods out and cover almost 25 feet of water warmer water temps super agressive fish, big fun! Will say almost all fish landed were males one even dumped his stuff on my boat seat, only one hen and one really chromer that hit jumped twice and came off. Good luck to all lots of snow tonight, I cant fish till sunday maybe.

Wow,sounds great, fishing that is. It was super slick this AM.   My sister slipped a disk today so I took her kids for the day and  she rested, as well as picking up my dog from the vets minus his man hood.   That meant no fishing for me today.    Water is coming down fast,  500 today and back to 335 by tomorrow night per the report. I have not decided where I am going, but either tomorrow or sunday it will happen.   Vacation is gone so it is only weekends from here on out for me.    Hoping to hit a few more before it gets too cold.   My hands and feet can't take the really cold, but I still see a few winter trips ahead.    Snow up north, but not much here tonight though.

3fan sounds like you had a great time.... I had similar luck like you had in the morning a year ago .... in about a foot and a half of snow my backhoe had a flat tire and got stuck between a tree and my dump truck.... managed to have both my pick up and dump truck stuck with the backhoe pinned against the tree next to the truck; needless to say I got all 3the of them out... unfortunately though I had no success fishing later that afternoon.... the only thing I caught that weekend was a back ache and a hangover.... lol... sounds to me like your good luck superseded the bad luck you he early on...kudos to you man... thanks for the report...

Bad starts usually end up for me that way, too. Glad it was consistent for you, and you had a great day.   Thanks for the report.

Clint your right on the water coming down, that is just bull I might add. How can they run 1500 for two days then drop it like a stone to 335. Poor water management, and its always been like this. Instead of 1500 they could have dropped it from 1000 to 750 and left it alone for two weeks, or even dropped it to 500 for the rest of the month. 335 means floats and beads or slow bouncing sacs with a single shot, or maybe dig a fly rod out. I like the big water, more fresh fish come in and keeps them on the feed witch means more bites, low water and lots of snow can really turn them off. This sucks!

Yeah and the rain we got early in the week...........................---------guys AGAIN the water isn't managed for the fishery or anyone's "ideal" flow-----get over it and fish.

Steel on a pin---so easy a caveman can do it.
