You have to have a prior license .. it does not even have to be in Pa... you guys sure don't know or understand the rules I never had hunter ed .. I had a license from when I was stationed in Delware and showed that hunting license to get back on a Pa license...

Yeah but I'm one of those guys that takes last year's license with me every year to show ... so after getting out of the service my last Pa license was 5 years before that.. so I just took the Delaware one with me... so when the guy asked did I have hunter ed or prior license I said YES and showed him the Delaware one .. that is what I did this year with a guy from South Carolina who wanted a Pa license now and had the N.C. license with him... 90% of the licenses we sell are sold on driver's license or social security number ... it is RARE the adult or junior shows last year's license or in fact .. even has it with them...

See as some have implied I "hang with the wrong crowd " and thus I have a lesser opinion of Pa hunters as a whole..

I see Drivers license or SS# gets them up on the system to check for a previous lic.. For some reason I always took last years license with me also, even still have my HS card. Someone not in the system then would have to have another states license or a HS card. I see now said the blind man to his deaf son. Must be the hard head....

I always took/take my old license with me. I don't pay that close of attention while buying one, but I believe they scan it and the system fills in all the information, which cuts down on my time in the store.

Doc, Sorry, but you asked. Please show me somewhere where it states ""carrying a gun in the woods in PA is Prima Facia evidence of hunting"" PA Title 34 Chapter 23 Section 2301 § 2301. Prima facie evidence of hunting. (a) General rule.--For the purpose of this title, any one of the following acts shall constitute prima facie evidence of hunting: (1) Possession of any firearm, bow and arrow, raptor, trap or other device of any description usable for the purpose of hunting or taking game or wildlife. (2) Possession of the carcass or any part or parts of any game or wildlife. (3) Pursuing game or wildlife in any manner prohibited by this title or commission regulation.

Does this mean that I have been illegally walking (flying?) my raptor all this time?
