Presquel casting

Fished all day in the boat trolling, casting, fished East of East Ave nothing hit the mile creeks nothing. Headed into the bay fished some spots around presquel and wow hit a spot and fish rolling like I've never seen before first cast lil cleo BAMM lost 4 straight only landed two but the fish were there. I've had a rough time hooking the fish this year any tips on setting the hook while spooning?

Have you tried using braided line, a lot less stretch. use a three or four foot flouro leader with a good barrel swivel. This will help with hook set.
