Too many vaiables to consider without knowing more. Some Bear models are better than others ex- Cub, Polar, Kodiak, etc. Some years are better than others, Are there any stress cracks, checkering of the finish, are the limbs twisted. Is there a medallion near the grip and if so is it gold, silver or bronze (denotes approx year of manuf). Generally older Bear recurves have a good collector value but value can vary from $20 to $600 depending on the above mentioned issues. Ebay can give you a approx value if you can find a similiar condition bow of the same model and year. Generally older compounds have very low value.

To me you can't put a price on something grandpa leaves to you. You might want to stop at a shop specializing in traditional equipment some day and have them give their opinion. Tell them they are not for sale and you are only curious. Most are good guys and will be honest with you.

I still have a bunch of them although they just hang on the wall anymore. The last time I tried to target shoot with one my shoulders hurt so much I couldn't shoot the compound for several weeks.

They started using the medalions in 1959 and they were flush with the surface until 1972, if it's raised it was made after 1972. Another way to age them is the company moved to Gainsville Fl in 1978 and Gainsville will be on the bow. Knowing the color of the bow along with the model bow narrows it even more.
