orvis fly rod

Ok I hope someone can help me .I just purchased a used Orvis 8wt 8ft9" western rod its a 2pc came with removeable fighting butt ,sock and a its original tube for 80 bucks,it is like brand new I can't find any signs of use.I just cant find out any info on this rod like when orvis sold these rod or how much it sold for......did I get a good deal? Thanks for any feed back

    Why do you care how much it sold for or when it was made as long as it works well and you'r happy with it. Sounds to my like you got a good deal. Look at it this way if it were new and you bought it today you would pay a lot more than $80 for it, so rejoyce and "Fish On".

    if that's the rocky mountain series, then I have that exact rock.  bought it in 1993 and they stopped making it a couple of years later.  new it cost $260.  the blank was the same used on the top of the line model, the superfine.  only differences were the quality of the componets ie cork, reel seat, etx.
