Glad I Chose Yesterday

Looking at the gauges this morning, I'm glad I decided to make the trip yesterday (10/20). I fished middle Elk and the flow was good, the color was nearly choclate milk but slowly clearing, the wind was strong and getting stronger and every other cast produced a leaf and sometimes two. With that being said and though I'm not nearly the fisherman that FLYCHUCKER says he is , I managed 2 to hand in the morning and then 4 more in the afternoon including a livley jack that had me doing the riverdance after it charged me and shot between my legs.

Because I love walking the creeks,I had a lot of water to myself and found a nice run in the afternoon that I had never fished before. Sorry no pics, they're just stored in the old memory bank.

Tight lines...

Always nice to find some serenity while up there.

now that's funny right there, uh no...white wooly buggers size 10, pearl and pink chrystal meth size 14.

btw, someone just pm'd me... "just 6 to hand... how many hook-ups?" Are you kidding me or what? I did however have a few that untied my knots

I can see counting your first couple landed but after a few does it really matter.

    Yes, it matters.

What is the point of counting hookups....I don't get it.

I used to count hook ups in college.

    Even the ones that required.

Some people just pull the fish scale off their hook and put them in their pocket.
That way you can count them up at the end of the day.

In counting hookups, is there a time requirement of being hookedup for the hookup to be counted as a hookup? Like in bronk riding, do you have like 6 seconds to hang on before it counts? If you only have 3 seconds but got a scale, does it count?

I count snags as hookups too so my numbers are always stellar.
