Shhhhhhh!

Can you hear it? It's the sound of the impending rut silence here on the board settling in....Everyone is busy counting sick days, trading shifts, begging for schedule trades, stealing each others babysitters, fighting with thier wives, cussing at the weatherman, yelling at the dog etc... God I love late October!

Better too far back, than too far forward.

Yeah, I wanted to take a 1/2 day tomorrow but it looks like it will still be a steady 15-20 with gusts 30+ with rain mixed in (moreso than today). I need to start using some vacation and due to family stuff, won't be able to hunt the evenings tomorrow or Saturday for sure. I may just suck it up and tuck myself into a stand site I have in a steep valley at a stream crossing and sit until 11 and hope for the best. Can't get anything sitting in the office or on the innerwebs beotching about it.

    "stealing each others babysitters"

    LOL

I'm setting up in good shape in terms of hunting times I think. I did lot of babytime these first three weeks and asking for help the last three should work good. Leave work early next week at 3:30. October 31-November 12 straight thru nuttin but huntin.

I'm confident we are going to have good weather coming. This rain and wind is gonna stop!

My reports and advice are for everyone to enjoy, not just the paying customers.

I hope so Silver. I bagged my 1/2 day this AM. Wind was blowing pretty good at 5am and it was still raining so I went back to bed.

With it being cool now and this weekend, we may end up with warmer weather in the coming weeks. One of the first two weeks in November is almost always warm. I'll take a little warmer compared to rain and wind for sure.

Saturday is looking good weatherwise for my area.  This has the potential to be one of the first sits of the year for me where I don't get rained on or endure gale force winds.

Hoping things picked up some more since my last time out.
