Tuesday Report

Had a great day. As a group we landed 14. With some breakoffs that were on purpose. 1 coho, the rest were kings. no steal that we saw near mouth of trout run in the am or Ellis Cove in the afternoon.Had one overly acrobatic king on at the cove. did 4 awesome jumps before breaking off. It was my one buddies first time and he is hooked. Came up with nothing. borrowed spare waders, my spare rod/reel and another buddies vest. When he left for home He had new waders, new rod and reel, clippers, and other items. Want to give a big shout out to the trailer shop in PINEVILLE. the guys in there were awesome and as commented on here before the prices were great. The were really helpful and have a very nice shop. found new soles for my korker wading shoes there and my buddie walked in in his borrowed waders and out in his new ones. with new spinning outfit. The even helped me installmy new soles on my Korkers since i didn't have a key. Just a great place and i recomend the place to anyone. Must sleep now ehausted.

    Nice report CP.

I never heard a bad word about the Pineville Shop, they are good guys.
If I recall correctly, they close up shop when the snow drifts arrive - too bad they don't stay open through the winter months - I'd toss them a few coins.

I tried the GOO with no luck. Talked to 2 guys that started in the Ballpark yesterday AM and they said there were alot of steel down there to start the AM. More steel than kings was what they said. Told the guys at pineville that I would be back to get some new waders when i get the fundage up. They were 25 bucks cheaper than the other stores. We checked all within 16 hours. Have bought stuff at all the stores and they are all friendly. The folks at all seasons are a riot especially after 10 pm. These guys at pineville just seemed to gp the extra mile when it came to customer care. Of course they weren't packed while we were there and between the 4 of us we dropped over 400 bucks lol. Met some nice guys on this trip. There was a guy that gave one of us a ride back to camp when we lost our keys somewhere on in or below trout run, A guy with a coffee mug at ellis cove (i thought i heard him say something about north carolina and thought of RT, but wasn't sure what i heard). The guy with the tatoo on his neck in all seasons, and the 2 guys in pineville

I have know Dale (older guy with long hair) and Ricky (Dales son, with Beard)  for a few years and they are pretty good guys.   Dale has offered to take me out quite a few times after business slows down in November and December, but  I have never taken him up on it.   Now that I am addicted to the fly rod and steel I just might take him up on it.

WEll we had a great trip. no doubt the best I have had in my short salmon fishing career. I can only hope to get up there in early november for steel and browns, but for the next week or two i am going to try and concentrate on nocking the guts out of a monster whitetail. Don't get me wrong, if the wife would let me escape again before that i would go in a heartbeat.
