proper boat for erie?

what would be a proper boat to use on erie in late october? dont say one that floats,
 
 
p.s my boat has a deep V to a shollow v

    None in 18' waves...


    Weather is always unpredictable on Erie but even more so in the fall. Watch the weather closely and don't venture too far and you'll be ok...

    Then definitely use one that floats.

    Any boat will work in calm conditions...and any boat can sink in poor conditions.

    I don't always snag fish, but when I do...

    whatever they sell at walmart!

    anyway, the same answer still applies to every other time someone asks what the proper boat is for Lake Erie... some guys will tell you that you can take a 15 footer out there, others will say nothing less than 19 foot.  use the search function and you'll find probably 8 decent threads since july about proper boats
