Seaguar Red Label

So, Seaguar or P-Line seem to be the lines of choice here for those that prefer fluorocarbon line.

I have a gift card for a big box retailer, and was gonna get some online. All they have is the Seaguar Red Label, and not the Invis-X.

Any of you guys have positive or negative feedback on the Red Label for steelhead fishing?

Rsquared - I am a big Invizx fan and due to price (10.99) tried the Red Label this past trout season. Looking at the specs its diameter is thinneror as close as Invizx, but when spooled it was waaaay to stiff even in 4 and 6 lb test. It was also breaking too easy on smaller stockies. Maybe I got a bad batch or something, but there has to be a reason its almost half off compared to Invizx. I am assuming that Seaguar intended to enter the bass market with this line, considering they use much bigger line. But who knows.

Seagaur Flouro is great stuff and is what I use...Go with the Invizx, the red label does break easy.

Thanks for the feedback guys.  Tells me all I need to know.  Save the card for something else, and pony up for some good line.

I question heavily the use of "spooling" fluorocarbon as a mainline due to it's stubbornness for coming off a heavily casted spin reel, especially if you are fishing lures.  I suggest using the DAM monofilament that Fish USA sells.  Use some "dummy" line about 1/4 of the spool, blood knot the Tectan on and spool up the rest of the way.  I use the 7.2 lb test without a leader most of the time in low clear water with no issues or noticeable difference in hookup rates, but if I am fishing around larger rock legdges or logs ill put on a fluoro leader for abrasion resistance,  either tippet or 6 lb mainline works.

I personally hate the red label. Maybe I got a bad batch, but it was extremely prone to abrasion and was very weak...break offs galore both at knot and elsewhere.
