New rod

Woo hoo broke in the new rod today.
She gave those Steelies all they wanted and then some..
Almost felt like I was cheating on the old 6wt leaving her to home..

    Gotta love it. Very sleek and great color. Oh, and the fish is nice too.

    nice to be able to share the great outdoors Bings !!!!! I am quite sure if anyone can give a review after so many hot reel smokers there are out their it is you BINGS !!!! tell us about the build - good bad etc. !!!

    The blank is a Rainshadow 9'6" 7wt, titanium eyes, green graphite reel seat.
    Used light Grey thread for the wraps, but I see without color preserver the epoxy really darkens the wraps.
    The build was quite easy till the epoxy.
    The top was on the dryer and it creeped up the jig while it was turning. That put the second eye into one of the V blocks on the jig and got caught in the felt.
    Went to check it and found a quarter size ball of felt wrapped up and epoxied to the eye.

    Little work with the razor and some sanding straightened her out.

    What a difference from the more moderate action 6wt w/out the fighting butt.
    Got some backbone to put it right to them now....

    We'll see how she does at the One Fly today.....

    its like bead fishin exsept dropper fly is hook

    I'm still workin on the gettin the hook inside the mouth when I'm perfecting my lining technique..It'll come...

    Bumped into Bings on Friday and got to see his work on this one...top notch. You'd think the guy's been building rods for years.
