A week from Tuesday

I know there's know telling what will happen in 12 days, but from what I am hearing I shouldn't be too late to still get to battle some salmon??? Thats what I am hoping for or is the water just going to be full of dead rotting carcasses and parking lots still jammed? Would be my latest trip to date. I am still going to try and make it the first week of NOV. for trout, but from what I have been reading on here it sounds like there may be a few good pushes to come. What do all you tough, weather hardened, fish masters think.

    CP,

I too am taking the 7 hour  ride up  in 12 days,  as this is your latest trip to date , this will be my earliest trip to date , by months! I am primarily going up to do a some scouting around  , as I usually start  fishing in Feb , the short cold FEB days  do not leave me very much daylight for exploration. I am anticipating that the "Zoo"  will still be in full swing , Therefore I may not even wet a line. But I am still excited to just get up there and see what it is like without the snow/ice and bitter cold. I do miss  the SR and have already had sleepless nights  just thinking about getting back up there.  If the "Zoo" is as bad as I have been told it is , those anxious sleepless nights might  turn into  Nightmares keeping me awake. LOL

    Maybe our path will cross
have a good and safe trip.

sorry to scare you guys with my horror story .. I have always gone and fished on Oct 20th before (not this year) and have not had issues with crowded conditions.. Most times the people left are meat hunters in the feeders.. This year so far has been a very strange one indeed.. No really early runs and no real rains to make the runs more predictable so I cant say what left yet to come.. There are lots of fish in the river and I would assume still another good push of them to come or at least continue to filter in.. I think you'll find enough fish around then to play with..

As for Crowds, again very strange season..Of course it was the busiest week I decided to fish up river so shame on me .. Again, I can only assume from next week on typically they start fading fast but weather and hunting season can play a role in that.. The better the weather the more people..

Good luck and hopefully the folks that are still fishing will keep everyone up to date on conditions..
I'll only be 4 days behind you guys..

    Good Luck..

hey cape and swing; regardless of anything; have fun... keep your eye out for the front that will come through late next week; if the west wind predicted to be in double digits on friday will remain after the 3 days of rain and thunderstorms; you guys just might see something nice... but remeber, the wind changes as fast as salmo spits out some non informative jibberish...

    tight lines guys...

Yeah, if it's windy the thousands of fish in the river will vanish into thin air!

Don't laugh, that seems to happen a majority of the times that I go up there.

Actually it's the bigfeet They only eat at night...

You should be ok with the fishing then. Lots of ppl but don't get discouraged. put on your hiking shoes and walk off the beaten paths.

That time, specially this year, should be GREAT- lookin forward to it myself= cant wait for Steel behind Kings on  beds and big Hos around. Lots less fisher guys  too.
Its been a OK year so far but there really should have been  more goin on. Kind of  strange. We are all hopin they are just waiting out the dry warm weather and will run soon. Body clocks tell em to go and they gotta go sooner or later.  Gotta get those eggs in beds.
CP an DT the first time ya get a big King or Ho on it WILL be a memorable one. An they are sure gonna be there for your week.

Yeah RT and OS thats good news. I am excited, just have to figure out the bed situation thing and hw to drop the eggs back for the steel and browns if the Salmon don't want to play. I hae some sucker spawn left and a few crystal meths. Just have to figure out what sacks to use and how to hook them up. Since the Phil's lost tonight all I have left is fishing and hunting. Hopefully I can sneak away. lol

    Thanks for the advice
