Back in the stand looking for a doe and some video of rutting bucks.  Only saw a little broken front left leg buck and three does too far to shoot at.  The buck was putting zero weight on his left front. No ruttiing action for me this morning.  I thought it would be good.  Cold and still.

Nope...

My rifle is a black rifle

Two bucks and 4 does passed by this evening, all to far away for a shot, the bucks were small but were still nose down and grunting as they followed the does...

FINALLY things are looking up !!!!!

Maybe tomorrow after work ???

BTW .. counted up October license sales .. 33 adult residents, 3 lifetime senior renewals, 4 junior combos, 1 junior regular license and 3 bocat tags .... 2 lake erie trout/salmon permits

Everyone must be hunting? No updates lately.
Had to bag last Friday eve. and Saturday all day since my son was still sick. He is finally on the mend and kicked the fever for good so I made it out this AM. Deer were really moving from first light until I got down at 8:45am to come into work. Saw 8 doe/fawns and 5 different bucks, one which was in full chase mode hot on a does trail (couldn't tell how big he was), 3 that were seeking with tongues hanging out wandering aimlessly trying to find something to chase and one just feeding along but lip curling occassionally. Unfortunately, none of the ones that I could see were shooters (all 1.5 yrs olds expcept one but he looked to be a scrubby 6 or 7) and even if they were, weren't close enough for a shot. Hope this warm weather doesn't suppress the evening movement too much.

I spent the better part of the daylight hours in a tree Wed-Sat.  With the exception of Friday, I saw a decent amount of activity although I did not see any decent bucks.  I had a couple legal 1.5YO's in front of me, but they weren't quite was I was looking for.

I still don't think the big boys in my area are moving much during daylight.

I will be back it at this Thurs-Sat....
