    22 pt next year.

7 minutes after this pic a velvet free spike walked passed. I thought he turned around and rubbed it off for another pic. I then noticed it had some ticks on its thigh.

The date must be wrong on that photo. Alt said we wouldn't be seeing any of those after HR.

Look a little closer next time, and see if he also has a "roe" name tag.

Once a spike, always a spike

This is the first year I can remember where I haven't seen a single spike by this point of the year.  This includes the cams, glassing fields, and a few evenings of spotlighting.  I think the huge acorn crop and relatively mild winter around here really helped.

Not possible. AR high grades. 70% will be spikes in a few years.

    Some pics.

Think I'll hunt this rubline the first morning. (did not put cams there this year). Think it's where the big boy is travelling. He is probably passing thru before light or coming up after dark. Didn't want to go in, but had to. Had some trouble finding his path. Think I found it. Not too much sign and the acorns that are falling are no good. Guess I'll take a chance and try to get lucky.

Some very nice bucks there, especially since you hunt in a WMU with no deer.

We checked the cams over the weekend and had 3 good bucks still on their feet during daylight hours.  There was a big 9 passing through a rubline twice last week around 6pm.  I know where I will be Saturday evening if the wind is right
