Daily Report

Arrived on the UFZ Sunday around 2 PM,fished in the baking hot sun for about a hour and did n't get a bump.Went to the LFZ to find some shade and fish. There I played set the hook, watch the fish throw the hook,I could n't keep anything on but at least played with a couple.
This morning I managed to land 3 Steelies and again lost several Salmon.Taking a break and will hit it again late afternoon.
There does n't appear to be any hot color as I had takes on black, green, orange and others were hooked on various by fellow fisherman.
Two DEC guys came down in drift boat and appeared to ticket a guy downstream of me for too long of a leader.

Went out again after 4 PM and landed one steel about 15" and it put on a real airial display:)Brought one Coho to the bank and lost several more and maybe one King.Did n't see the King but it was very heavy and fought like a king.Olive and peach were the two colors this evening for me.

Drake, those Coho were taking Oregan cheeze glo bug,and orange estaz egg.
Went to the UFZ this AM and landed a 4-5 lb brown on a BH pheasant tail, one Coho on a orange estez and lost a Coho on same fly.I was fishing fast riffly water and could see fish moving up but most were on a mission and did n't want to play.
I saw what I believe was a brown come thru and he was a monster, estimate to be high teens, very fresh and green with large spots,if that was a brown it would be a nice fish to play with.
Taking a break, will check in later.

This evening was n't so good for me,hit the LFZ in fast water by wire.Only played with two fish,a Coho and a huge King, the King won the battle but I whipped the Coho.
Going to fish in the AM then head for home around noon, will check in when I get home.

Well after driving through torrential rain from Cortland to just above Bingh. and a cup of hot java at Flying J I got home in one piece.
Fished the fast water by the wire on the LFZ till 11 then hit the road. This was n't my day to hook and hold fish, had several on but lost each one shortly after a few head shakes or quick bursts, maybe I was too tired to set the hook firmly?Today it seemed that darker colors were what they wanted.A fellow across from me was having action on small black wooly buggers until he lost his last one, then his luck slowed way down.I had hits on a black wooly, but large was all I had on me,and a flashback nympth with peacock dubbing body, and two hits on a Salmon River flea early but nothing after that.
There are lots of fish moving through and I'll be up again Sunday to give it another go.

    PA,

That can be a **** of a drive in bad weather and after fishing all day...just nice to get home safe and unwind.

Do you fish the zones mostly, maybe we can hook up.

Thanks, Jack. Sorry you didn't stay buttoned. To tell the truth, I use wooly buggers alot of the time for every type of fishing, even in the salt . I haven't used them near as much on the SR. Time to change that. More good info.

Mornings till 9-10 and evenings 5:30 - dark little black bead headed wolly buggers were the way to go very productive. Spent alot of time in the lower fly had my dad and he's not to moble.

Salt, the "zones" are the only place I fish for Salmon,I do not venture below the bridge.
I'm going to be there again Sunday afternoon thru Friday morning. How about you?
