It is certainly worth a 3 hour drive to fish the Laurel Mountains for trout in the fall. The state starts stocking on October 5th.

However, do not limit yourself to just Indian creek, as there are many streams very close that receive fish as well as other streams that support native fish very close by, along with arguably the best section of the Yough river not being far either. Check the fish commission website for all the fish-able water close to Indian Creek and have at it.

    Good Luck!

we drove about an hour and a half, and it was worth it, so i guess it depends on how bad you want to fish

I agree with Loomis, Indian creek is just one of many streams to fish in the area, and the Yough is always good fishing. The upper section of Indian creek will be stocked this fall but there are fish all the way down the creek. Make a weekend of it and enjoy yourself good luck.
