The bite has been unbelievable. Try 55-60' west of the point, and 65-75' east of Shades.

    Doc,
We've done well off of both Presque Isle and Walnut up through our last trip 2 wks ago. It may take a bit of searching if the 'pack' isn't organized but they have been around.

Good luck and maybe we'll see you out on the water Sunday...

went on the new boat o danny o last sun.
wasn't doing to good in the perch pack so
captain raised anchor and went for hour ride
we anchored by ourselves and wow did we
crush them , lots of 12 & 13 inchers lots
    of doubles.
i had chartered the whole boat for our club
34 of us and all did good
we like this boat way better than the e j
    and its blue army fishermen.

We crushed some slobs today...took us awhile to find the large, active ones and get away from the white perch, but when we did we found some real pigs.

    PLUS 1!

WE FREAKN POUNDED THEM ON SATURDAY!

They were big and hungry. First we tried to target some steel, smallmouth, and walleye. No luck.
We put the spot lock on the terova in 70 f.o.w. just west of n.e. harbor, on the inside edge of the mountain. The perch were on bottom 15 foot.
At first they were just bitting, once we started filling the cooler it was on. There was a massive feeding frenzy of perch below eye dreamn! They were spitting up smelts, shinners, and gobbies like crazy. This made the school turn to wild fire. I would set my 3 banger sabiki with goldens on the bottom for a second and then it was fish on. Once we got the hang of things we would let the newly hooked perch panic down low for a bit. Then BAM! Number 2 and 3 would jump on. It was freakn awsome.
My buddy Joe was using the forage that the perch spit up at us the boat. He also caught 1 on a bare hook.
It was a blast. We boated almost a 3 man limit between 1 and 3 p.m. we pulled the plug because we still had to drive back to the burgh and filet.
We had 6 fish that hit 13" & countless 12" all the rest were 9-12"

Once again Mother Erie blessed us with a awsome day!

    Good luck!

P.S. my hand is still numb while writing this post from 2 plus hours of the electric knife, Jez..........
O ya one more thing, it was fun playing corn hole with perch and the igloo. I was pitching them buggers from the bow of the boat to the back were the igloo was.

Had a great day.. not alot of "dinks" and lots of "jumbos" ... fished mostly in 60+ feet of water, fatheads were the trick... 4 guys = 4 limits...
    Here's one of my "jumbos"...

Had alot of fun and enjoyed learning how to "fillet" the perch after we got back to Brookville.... it was windy and as I sit here and type I still feel like my body is going up and down with the 3+ foot waves

Where are you? I can't see you at all, all I see is a boat interior, a pair of hands and a perch floating in the air.
