Few more hunts

Ran some traffic on last week, scratched out 7. Packed up early and missed a bunch more birds. Live and learn.

Buddy checked a field that had been hunted already, to our suprise birds showed back up. Got their early as we knew other guys would try to hunt it. Set up wrong intially with only a few birds hitting the ground, dragged everything 100 yrds to where the birds wanted to be. Banged a 5 pack and a bunch of singles. Ended with 14 and two bands.

The Lord has blessed us all today... It's just that he has been particularly good to me.

Krott, that looks like a blast (no pun intended) but what do you do with so many? Only goose hunting I've ever done was at the prop area at pymie and you're only allowed one, and that was usually enough for me. I suppose if I had some recipes I would eat a few more... Nice pics...

Much easier, and much more palatable, to just breast them out and throw the rest away. Just like you'd do a chicken breast. Remove the skin & fat.

Marinate and grill or broil medium rare. Really easy to overcook it like this, because there's not much fat in the meat itself.

Nice shootin' Krott! Still haven't fired a shot at a goose yet this year. Been out twice, and have seen a total of 3 birds. They're just not hittin' my nearby honey holes this year.

We just breast them out, its fast and easy. We give some away and make a a lot of jerky with the rest, of course soe get shot up too bad to eat.
