never challenged you to anything and like i said, when/if your kahunas drop, do the right thing instead of crying over spilled milk online and perhaps you wont get criticized and so upset. just sayin'

You sent me an angry pm telling me where you live lol..And all I did was tell a story. You and ridge are the ones crying about how I should go snitch..It seems to bother you way more than it bothers me...

Im done feeding the troll bye

lol. you must really be sensitive if you think that was angry. not only was i laughing at you and told you that you fellas crack me up. you dont have the kahunas to turn in a poacher so youre definitely not going to respond to an angry pm. just sayin'

To clarify, Pleasant Valley, Lakeview Beach, Windsurfing Beach and the Marina areas (Davis Hollow, Crescent Bay, and Watts Bay)at Lake Arthur are closed to fishing year round. Note the dark blue color indicating no fishing on the Park Map.

http://www.dcnr.state.pa.us/stateparks/parks/moraine/moraine_maps.aspx

Fishing is permitted on the left and right side of Beach areas, Not from the sand beach area. No Boating Buoys are still in place despite the swimming lines being removed. There are also signs on either end of the Beach indicating no fishing between the signs.

These areas are closed to protect patrons from getting entangled in fishing line and hooks. The marinas are closed to fishing to prevent damage to moored boats and reduce vandalism and theft. I will review the rules with the ranger who provided the erronious information.

Enjoy a productive fall fishing season at Lake Arthur!

Dan Bickel, Park Manager
Moraine State Park

Also had a good conversation with the Ranger. He told me that once the ropes are removed from the beach, fishing is allowed there. He explained that the rule is 100 feet from a swimming area but once those ropes are gone, it is no longer a swimming area.

Thank you Dan for taking time out of your day to set this straight. And also commend you for a great job at keeping one of my personal favorite parks, running strong as always under the current financial challenges.

Any plans to add additional cabins or a campground?

I've asked a ranger before and they said barbers point windsurfers launch was able to be fished if you waded out, if what you're saying is true wouldnt that park ranger have thrown Lenny out ?

I've spent a few seasons specifically targetting eyes on Arthur, digging up as much info as possible. Trolling Hot N Tots, harnesses, jigging sonars, using live bait, ect. I have ONE eye in that time, that wasn't during the alewife spawn. During that time, I have managed a few others. If you happen to find that spot to get into walleye, PLEASE let me know! They are in the lake, just don't get your hopes up too high on focusing on them. They seem to be pretty elusive in this lake. The rivers in the next week or two would be where I would go if specifically targetting eyes.

Now I could be wrong but the way I read the policy is that PRIVATE LAND is the only way to spot burn.  Is that private land?  Possible you should take your own advice before shooting down the gentlemen that was trying to help out other anglers at his own will???

You read my mind. I get on the Southwest thread and expect fishing reports...nope.Just people b***h slapping each other, and others that just put more gas on the fire. Both parties are just as guilty, no one is big enough just to let it go and move on.This is really getting old none of this is even close to being funny anymore and people are discouraged to post about fishing because of this playground BS!!! Now come and slam me on here I know it's coming, but bring it because none of this even comes close to intimidating me.

Beach eh? Cool, after all these years that's one of the spots I have yet to try. I know a spot to catch a dozen or so Pike that size in the early Spring, but not this late in the year. Nice catch, and thanks for sharin'!

Thank you very much for the clarification, it may save someone a fine or an innocent swimmer an injury. Hopefully we can put the kids to bed on here.

7ML.,

1st. off I think he said he would check with a Fish Warden about the rules, maybe I'm wrong? Park Rangers down there r purdy kool from the time the lake was remade from the Glacial yrs./ every one I ever met has been nicer than a best buddy & just doing their job & to ed. boaters & fishers alike. Crap I've had Park Rangers tell me to cast where it's out ov bounds I'd respond "think that's in the rule book sir" He'd reply "yeah but that's where the fish r"

Little did he know (care}iV  i'd swing won over there or just stare after he left there crappy

Seven,

The pak manager explained what the rules ARE. Park rangers work for the DCNR, while WCOs work for the PF&BC and may have different enforcement policies, or priorities. In fact I suspect that the "no fishing" areas, being park rules, rather the fishing regulations may play a part. Rangers enforce the park rules, WCOs enforce PF&BC regulations. I might not be a bad idea for Dan to get together with the district WCO, to make sure they are on the same page in this regard.

I do know that the WCOs, and some rangers have been fairly lenient when it comes to certain "off limits" areas such as boat ramps/docks. At least during periods of low use. Consider this a courtesy, don't abuse it, or argue when asked to move on, and I doubt you'll have any problems.

Get Informed, Get Involved, And Make A Difference.

Step Up, or Step Aside

I fish at the new brighton dam on the BEAVER RIVER. I walk down the bank to the landing and And exactley 25 ft from the end , I line up with the big sycamore tree on the opposite side and the big rock below the dam . and I catch stripers and walleye, and saugers, oh and also catfish. But please don't tell anyone else I don't want a lot of new people going down there and trashing the place with their discarded fishing line and pop cans ,and spitting tobacco on the ground and all the stuff so called new people do.

nobody is saying everyone does that.... there are some respective people on this earth but the more you post spots on here the more random people that view these forums will see it and the more traffic that spot will have and there are going to be idiots who litter and dont respect the fishing spot.....
