September Deer =

With all the apple trees dropping apples daily the deer are really hitting this area..

early evening and once or twice during the evening we are seeing the 5 usual visitors.. A Mother her female and male (just a spike) offspring from last year and her twins from this year..

Around 7:30am the last two mornings three bucks are stopping at one spot.. I believe they are a 6 pointer, 4 pointer and another spike.. can't make out any brow tines yet and if they are there they are small..


and this morning the trail camera caught the doe with the messed up ear again and another deer...

    Wife and I did a little road"hunting" this past saturday evening just south of Marienville. We saw 63 deer,7 were bucks,6 spikes and a 4 point. Must be a little early for the horned bucks to be making their appearance....WF

    Sounds like another area where Herd Reduction and Antler Restriction is producing lots of quality bucks as advertised. I wonder what kind of headgear those deer would have had before 2001.

    Queen and I had to miss the 1 Fly this weekend to close up the camper. Checking out the deer on Saturday evening, we saw 43 doe and 7 bucks. 1 nice 8 or 10 point and 6 illegal bucks. Some were different little bucks then we have seen before. Funny that all the deer we saw were on private land and the few miles we traveled on state ground showed nothing....WF
