Cold/Warm water Fisheries

Once the boards are somewhat slow lets see your opinions... In either a warmwater or coldwater fishery which do you believe should be managed, the game fish or the bait fish and for what reasons???

More often than not, of there is good water quality, and you manage the gamefish properly. The baitfish will take care of themselves.

I'd say it all depends on,a particular body of water. Some lakes seem devoid of baitfish entirely, except bluegills. I'd love to see more golden shiner stockings. Or some other semi large bait fish that can be caught on hook and line. or permit more cast netting and stock filter feeding bait fish.(alewife or something)

You make a good point, I believe that the game fish should be managed whether it be musky, bass, pike or any other top predatory fish. These fish would then mange the bait fish. And to add the game fish would have a constant fishing pressure from fishermen so if there food source is depleted the catch rate might increase. If the bait fish would be managed and there is a over stocking of them then the predatory fish might not be feeding as much.

They might not be feeding on lures so much. Buy they'd likely be well fed and much bigger if u do catch em.
