Steelhead

They are here-out in the lake in 105fow...

Fished with the board members for the annual walleye/perch outing on Saturday. Because my crew members backed out at the last minute, I convinced my g/f to make the trip up with me. We got a late start, fished the Lake Sat. from 8 till 1:00.

We got 5 walleyes and 2 steelhead. My g/f got her first ever steelhead out on the lake, and I caught my personal best steelhead to boot. We didn't get measurements on the big one, but I'm guessing in the 33-34 inch range...Was a hoss for sure, gave me a good battle out there. All fish got a free pass today and were released unharmed...

Are both pictures of the same fish?  That bottom one looks beautiful and is a real nice one.  If it's hooked in this years run someone will have their hands full landing it.

Nice fish! Now if you could have kept it in the live well till the "One Fly". And made it very hungry. Wait! I'm giving away my secret spot!

Thanks for all the positive replies guys!

I'm kinda kicking myself for not keeping the big one, but I am still considering getting a replica mount done. Anyone out their know of a good taxidermist that specializes in doing replica mounts?

I don't know how much of a problem it is since I didn't get any measurements, but I'm guessing they could come close if they have that photo to look at?
