are the great lakes dying?

while researching google(thanks tim) i came across this story about lake michigan dying.
scary stuff.
i hope this isnt the beginning of the end for lake erie and lake o since the water comes from michigan.

    I watched a show last week: waterlife, and it is very disturbing.
    Invasive species are destroying the lakes along with wastes.

    Asian carp are in a river a few miles from one of the great lakes and if they make it in one lake they'll be in all of them.

    It's going to happen some day. I saw a show the other day about them. When they trapped them close to Lake Michigan, they discovered they were skinner than they should be. They said they are starving because they have depleted the food supply in that area and now they are moving up the river to find a new source. They're trying everything they can to stop it from happening.
