Nothing better to talk about

Since there doesn't seem to be anything better to talk about I thought I'd post this recent pic from my trail cam.  Will post more if we get any shots of this guy out of velvet.  It's the first of him this year so might just be a dispersal.

Wow, very unique to say the least.  It will be interesting to see what he looks like once he looses his velvet.

His ballsac grew on the wrong end or its a bluetooth headset.

Absolute power corrupts absolutely. The closer we adhere to the Holy Bible and the US Constitution (as it was written) the closer we get to the model that made America great. The great American experiment worked, human nature just got in the way.

He had a head injury that relocated his pedicel and his antler now grows in the odd direction. If he makes it through the season his antler might correct its direction to some degree though it will always be messed up.

A number of years ago we had a similar incident with a young bull elk. He had an injury that broke his skill and left his one antler hanging. They thought about putting him down but instead tranquillized him, removed the hanging antler (by sawing it off) and allowed him the opportunity to heal. Each year after that the antler on the side where the pedicel had been shifted tot eh side he grew an antler out the side of his head. The first couple years it grew to the side kind of straight but over time the antler direction turned back into an upright direction even though it still started out from the side. That bull eventually became the dominant bull in the elk range and was profiled in the picture that was on the cover of I believe it was the 2005 hunting and trapping digest. I arrested the group of guys that killed him out of season in the fall of 2005. We also recovered his antlers and some of the meat they had removed from his carcass. If I remember when I get to where those antlers are stored I’ll get a picture of the antlers so you can see how they eventually tried to self-correct.
