Catfish

Can anyone tell me about the catfishing around elk creek outlet. Is it done right from shore or no you need a boat to get out on the lake aways. What kinda things are you using for bait? Thanks

im not sure about elk, but go to walnut when the creek is completely blown out. use must use 3 to 5 oz pyramid sinkers and nitecrawlers. cast 1 into the channel and 1 towards the lake mouth. i heard about it and had to try for my self. dont go until 10:00 or 11:00 pm. i kot several 10# to 15# channel cats. and that nice for some wild channels. u will have a great time.

Elk creek used to be a great place to fish at night. Word got out, now its a zoo on the weekends. Be carefull, the wardens know this too. Saw a guy last year get cuffed and stuffed.

    Standard baits and techniques apply.

The crouds may have slowed maybe givin the conditions (water temp, flow, etc.)     When its cattin time, it is downright annoying to fish down there.  Peace and quiet is replaced with laterns, fires and loud drunks.  I don't go down there as neary as I used to.  I too have seen wardens down there and they are sneaky.lol.
