Looking to take kids fishing here tonight. Any local bait shops nearby. Looking to catch panfish. toss one out for carp, catfish. So looking somewhere sells worms and such. bait. Also if anyone one could help which end or side of lake should we fish. no Spot burning just general direction. Not far walk. have 2 kids w/special needs so walk 100 yds or less. thanks..

If the shop on the entrance to the lake road is not open, there is a convenience store on the intersection of rt.22 E. & 981 that sells canned bait. It is in the plaza right accross from Sheetz. Also there is a bait store heading west on Rt.22 about 2 miles from there that is called 6-buoys that usualy has minnows also.As far as fishing with the kids I would go to the handicapped area by the dam. sam

Was just there yesterday...there's a bait shop by the campground on the dam side, and I've also seen the one up by sheetz. No experience with either one though as far as price/quality, though. Just know they're there.

For panfish I'd fish the causeway side, for carp & cats, I'd hit the dam side...so no help there. I did see a guy and his kid reel in a few small fish (either young LM or small crappie or gills...nothing keeper-size) while paddling around yesterday mid-afternoon by the dam.

if you fish anywhere on that lake with shiners/minnows under a bobber you shouldnt have much trouble catching fish. you'll catch more in the evening/early morning as opposed to the middle of the day.

Bought some red worms at the convenience stor across from sheetz. fished across from the swimming beach. parked in lot over causeway. kids caught several bluegill. nothing of any size but they head a good time. Thats what it's about right.
