Akita, IMO the sabiki rig is the best option. I have used a crappie magnet jig in the past with some success, but it takes way too long to get down and adding weight seems to screw up the action of the jig. Have also had some success with maggots, wax worms and night crawlers, but unless you're just doing it to see if you can I'd just stick with the sabiki and emeralds...

I use very large Swedish Pimples for weight with about a 6" trailer of mono tied to the hook.

Get down fast and you can jig them some for a little flash action...

Right on Bings....Hali lures do well summer & winter for Perch also. If the chain breaks just use 4"/5" of mono and keep fishin.

You do not need a parachute to skydive. You only need a parachute to skydive twice.

On a recent perch trip i did my usual on sabaki rigs buy many of the jumbos 12 or better came on those hooks with the red or chartruse flicker blades.we had a couple rigs with mixed hooks but the ones with the flicker blades did the best!!!!! Also piece od nite crawler seemed the prefered bait for the bigger ones that day at least!!!!!!!

try a crappie jig or trout magnet etc.... tie a palomar knot and leave the leader long and put a 1 oz weight on the leader and fish it like a drop shot......it works
