H&R 30/30 barrel ??

Anybody got any ideas where I can get an interchangeable barrel for a H&R 20ga. shotgun?

I bought it 45 years ago and at that time they made a 30-30 barrel single shot that you could exchange with the 20ga. single shot barrel. I would like to give it to my grandson, this being his first year hunting, and he's just a little guy. H&R was bought out by a larger manf. and they don't make this barrel anymore. Where would you go on line to find this item ??

You do not need a parachute to skydive. You only need a parachute to skydive twice.

You never really mentioned what model you had. Here is some info from H&R as to fitting of rifle barrels. Looks like a 30-30 can be fitted to a SB-2 frame. Maybe contact H&R. Hope this helps. OA http://www.hr1871.com/Support/accessoryProgram.asp

I have one of those barrels. My dad bought 2 H&R's. One with the interchangeable barrel and one that doesn't (20 gauge only). He bought them at Claber's Dept. store (now bankrupt) in the late 60's or early 70's. I think he paid $30 for the one and $65 for the combo one. Me and my 2 brothers used them for our first 2-3 years. Even used them with slugs to hunt deer here in Allegheny County.
The reason for my response is I must tell you we had several problems over the years with ejecting the 30/30 shells once fired. The rounds would swell and we had to ram rod them back out.

Thats a VERY common problem with H&R/NEF rifles.  Polishing the chamber will fix it.

Absolute power corrupts absolutely. The closer we adhere to the Holy Bible and the US Constitution (as it was written) the closer we get to the model that made America great. The great American experiment worked, human nature just got in the way.
