question about shooting

Is there any regulation about shooting on your own property ? do your neightbors have to be a certain distance away ? its all woods in the direction i shoot behind my house with a somewhat of a hillside as a backstop, but my neighbors house is only about 70 yds away outta reach of any projectiles. Can they report me ? Their new and the previous neighbors didn't care about me shooting before but after my first shot tonight sighting in for rifle, she came out on her front porch, hand on her hips like she was pretty PO'D and i can't find anything in the regs book about target shooting.

Look for Safety Zone in the rule book.
    Probably 150 yards

You need to find your TOWNSHIP ordinances.  The game commission has nothing to do with target practicing on private property.

Growing up where I did, we used to sight-in off the back porch.  Before I graduated college, the township passed a rule specifically laying out regulations for shooting ranges.  No more random shooting.  You must layout a well planned and secure range.  Even if you follow the laws, your neighbors can still stop you from target practicing.  Good luck.

You might try talking to them, a little heads up might ease the shock of of center fire rifle going off...

If I agreed with you we would both be wrong

    Ditto to what they said.

Check twsp. ord's and a little heads up go a LONG way. Offer up some venison or fish to make friends with them. Good luck! OTH

No safety zone for target shooting.

PGC can enforce laws regarding shooting ranges during deer season.

Your best bet would be to find out your township/city laws regarding discharging firearms.

Also might want to give her a curtesy warning before you target shoot the next time.
