yarn indicators

have any of you guys tried using a waterproof spray like you would use for boots on your yarn indicators?  I'd like to use them but don't want to have to grease them up with floatant.

    you have to wtch some dry sprays and waterproof sprays. they will bleach out the color of some feathers and yarns. i don't use any sprays for any flies. except deer flies buzzing around my head..

          To keep yarn afloat I usually just use some chap stick.  Messy, at first, but usually lasts most of the day.
