New line on spool

What kind of knot does everyone tie when putting line on a spool? I have been having issues for a long time with this, and my brother asked me what to do, and I just don't have an answer for him. Any help would be appreciated.

If you are refering to braid, try adding several feet of mono first. Braid will slip causing lots of problems.

I've had that problem with braid....the mono takes care of it just fine.

Men and fish are alike. They both get into trouble when they open their mouths.

A small wrap of electrical tape or duct tape will also help.

Thanks everyone, I was referring to braid, it's almost all I use. I have had problems with slipping in the past.

Arbor knot the mono to the spool first. wind on,a few yards of the mono, then use a uni-uni splice for the mono-braid connection
