What are bangos

I have been reading fishing reports for Lake Erie, and alot of guys are mentioning trolling with bangos. What are they? how big are they? how deep do they dive?
thanks for any help

Didn't find them on the FishUSA 'tackle shop' search, so if anyone knows if FishUSA carries them please provide the link I missed...
but did find them on another page

The Bango's you hear guys talking about are a discontinued deep diving lure originally made by Bagley. The one's shown on the link above are the shallow floating series. These lures are no longer in production from the factory; however there are some niche mfg's reproducing them. You can sometimes find original ones listed on Ebay or other similar sites-but they are scarce.

Do to the popularity of the lure, Poor Richards has a custom mfg making them for their shop. This is the only place that I know of where you can find these lures. They have a pretty wide selection of all the popular colors & I believe they will cost you about $8/piece.

These plugs do consistently catch walleye on Lake Erie. They are a deep diving plug, I believe they troll down to around 12-15ft, but that will vary based on your setback and trolling speed.

from what i understand jarmo rapala, after selling rapala to shimano, bought the rights to bagley along with another lure maker and are going to start to reproduce the original bagley baits. I dont know if they will be making the full line of bagley's but only time will tell.  Hopefully they will be able to reproduce it to a T.  heres a link.  www.bagleybait.com

I would put a rapala taildancer head to head and the rapala will outfish it every time..

    I'll take that bet.

The Bangos def put fish in the boat, the run about 50/50 with reefs on my boat and somedays they just catch more fish, especially in the skinny water and early season.

Any chance Ironhed or kingnuke can put up a picture of the lures with the names of the colors. Also, how deep do these dive at a 100' lead?
