main lake smallmouth

hey guys, i am looking to bring my dad up over fathers day weekend for some small mouth fishing. I have fished the bay a few times but havent fished the main lake much for smallies. Any tips on depth or area this time of year would be helpfull not looking for your spots just general information would be appreciated. I know about the dumping grounds, will they be there by this time? Feel free to PM me.

Thanks!

Fished the w"s yesterday, caught smallies 14 to 22' of water. Caught bigger fish in shallow water. Marked schools of perch also at 20' to 18'. Boated 22 smallies, half a dozen sheephead, and 3 perch, and 2 rock bass.

Ya like you guys said. Shades beach east to the w's some of the best smallies on the planet! Love it.
My favorite summer technique for them is a live crawfish on a drop shot. If you get just enough wind to drift it is a blast. Hold on to your rod. Those smallies CAN'T resist a live crawdad.
They got live ones at east end angler.

Good luck and enjoy your day with you dad, I hope the weather holds up.

No problem if you don't fish the lake you wouldn't know where there are.

From north east harbor, turn left (west) and go a about 3 miles. You will see a large point jutting out into the lake. At the point you should also see a white beach house. That's start the east side of the w's. There run about another 2 miles west. The step carrved out shore line looks like large letter w's in a way. You will see large bumps and boulders on you graph the smallies are packed in there.
From shades beach access, turn right go east maybe 4 miles. There is a red house on the top of the hills side. That's starts the west side of the w's.

    Hope this helps!

Those smallies will definitely give you a perma-grin!

Nice pics, glad you found em. Once you nail those hogs out east, your hooked for life.

    Love it
