wilmore fishing Thursday night

I fished wilmore Thursday night. The crappie are still holding deep. Caught some lunkers. I saw two guys fishing there. They were fishing with homemade polls(pretty cool) They were fishing right off the rocks at the cliffs. I was wondering if it was anyone from here. I was the guy with the lantern. I showed you guys some nice 13" slabs. I think you guys had the green jeep. Your friends yelled down to you and asked you if you were catching any carp. If so drop us a line.

Well I'm glad none of you guys on here were the guys i saw with the homemade fishing polls. They really weren't that cool after all. I was trying to bait them into responding. what @#$%^ me off about them was that they left their polls baited and in the water with about 10ft of line on them. I guess that they didn't care about the size limit either. although they only caught a few they never measured anything they just threw them in a bucket. They drive a green jeep. If i ever see them again i will tell them that they are now being watched. people like this give us a bad name period!

haha,, that was good. hey man we were on the breast dock saturday night,,, crappie bite was very slow in the beginning but picked up about 2 in the morning. Most of the fish caught were on trout magnets about 3 1/2 feet from the weighted bobber and you had to be realing very slow. Also they were out as far as you could throw out from the pier. 3 of us kept about 20 total all were over 12", very nice group of fish!! hope to see ya soon russel.

Hey Tim. You are right. It seems like it takes them a long time to come up from the deep to feed. I talked to a guy at the peer the other night. He just lost a rod. He was fishing for cats and turned his back for a second. The fish took the poll right out of the holder.

I have used cut up smelt with good results, though I haven't fished that way in quite some time.
