1985 Sears Gamefisher 9.9 Motor
Up for sale is a 1985 Sears Gamefisher 9.9 longshaft motor, model number 217.586260. Here's the deal, I got the motor with a 14 ft Sea Nymph boat over the winter. The gentleman I bought it from had a stroke and was unable to go out by himself any more. The motor has sat for 6 or 7 year without being used. I have put new plugs in it and a new impeller. I took the carb apart and cleaned it as best I could but I am no motor expert. The motor is very clean and appears to be in very good condition. I can get it to turn over but it will only run for a few seconds then it will cut out. A friend had a 9.9 Johnson sitting in his garage and offered it to me so I dont need 2 motors. From my limited motor experience I am thinking it is not getting enough gas to keep it running, which can be a carb problem or even related to the gas tank and fuel line that may need replaced. You can buy an complete carb rebuild kit on E-bay for $30 for it. I just don't want to sink alot of money in to this as I have a running motor now.
