can I get a weight estimate?

While trolling this morning for walleyes, I noticed a big plastic bobber being towed around like the shark in jaws was towing the buoy.  After about fifteen minutes of casting at it and trying to relocate it I finally managed to hook the line below the bobber and in about another 15 minutes I was able to get it in the net.  Measured just shy of 35 inches.  Any of you carp experts care to give me an estimate of what it should have weighed?  Thanks

I had no flexible tape in the boat so I don't know the girth.  He looked like he hadn't been missing any meals though.

Its gonna be a little tough. I guess a little info first just so you know where I am coming from. First big question is male or female. The females this time of year will be full of eggs so did you notice the belly was bulging a lot? If it was more sleak and streamline then it would have been a male. I agree with the above about 15-20lbs would be a good safe average. It could have been a lot more or a lot less. Adult carp usually never get larger than 40-42inches. Most of the lakes around here they tend to max out around 36-38" Carp just get fat basically from top to bottom and don't get the length. If it was a male I would say for one that size it would have been 14-18lbs roughly. These are basically some good averages to go by but it could have been bigger. If you get one again sometime even if you take a cell phone pic we could get you a much better estimate.
