To tell the truth

Fishing my favorite lake in Westmoreland county this morning and ran into a guy that told me that he caught a 15lb. largemouth there. Laughable, I know, but I listened to his story anyway. Few weeks ago, ran into a guy at Oneida Lake and he told me he caught a 23" crappie there. Another laughable story. So I asked him what he did with it. "We ate it" he replied. So then I told him that not only did he eat the state record, but he ate the world record. That was the last I saw of him. Moral: If you're gonna embellish your stories, at least have your story somewhat believable. And with today's cell phones that all have camera capabilities take a picture. And quit BSing us who know.

    Eat, release, or both?

23 inch crappie, that would not be a world record....Because I was fishing one of my local lakes and a women banking fishing said "she seen with her own eyes, two guy catch a 38" crappie right over there" she pointed to a section of lilly pads.

I am still waiting for that lake to be flooded with pan fisherman hopeing to beat that record....

I met a guy while fishing recently who started telling me caught the state record brook trout a few years ago in a small feeder stream that runs along his property.  It was 28" long and 9 pounds.  His brother caught a bigger from the same hole, but they "forgot about it" and left it outside all night because they were so excited they got drunk after catching the fish.   Apparently a racoon chewed it all up before they could get it verified or mounted.  That fish was about 30", 9 lb, native brookie, from a stream that is about 3 feet wide and 2 feet deep.....

I was told that somebody caught a giant snakehead out of the Crooked Creek outflow. This is for real. Is there any truth to this? And I've pulled crappie out of Onieda close to 20" but 38". Haha I just love those stories

I caught a 40lb. muskie out of chartiers creek on a 2 wt. flyrod swinging pink intruders by the train tracks.

When I landed it a condor swept down from the skies above and snatched it from my startled grasp, yelling and laughing that I been punked by a bird.

True story. One of my greatest and worst moments at the same time.

ME: What? A condor carrying a muskie?

YOU: It could grip it by the gills!

ME: It's not a question of where he grips it! It's a simple question of weight ratio! A 20 pound bird could not carry a 40 pound muskie.

    YOU: Well it doesn't matter.

ME: Listen. In order to maintain air-speed velocity, a condor needs to beat it's wings forty-three times every minute right?
