Raingear

Looking to buy a rain jacket...  Part of me was considering the $49.99 Frog Togg suit at Gander or the Columbia Men's Watertight Jacket, or the Gander mountain brand "rain jacket." any info would be helpful trying to decide before I head to Erie this comming weekend.  Even taking other suggestions seeing as i'm using a Stearns PVC slap jacket which works but is annoying after an hour or so...

Been using the Gander Tech2O since 2002.  I have the bibs and parka.  The wife has a set also.  They've been good to us.

MAGS I would not buy the frogtoggs they BITE and will only last a couple times out and then you WILL get WETT !!!!!! If you are serious about fishing in the rain, Buy quality gear!!! it may be costly but you will be glad you did. And the way the weather has been you'll need it. Dave

I had a set of Frogg Togs and they got snagged on everything! So I went to Tractor Supply and bought a "rubberized" work rain suit. It's a little heavy BUT It keeps me dry, and it's durable.

I have a set of cablas dry-plus ultra parka and pants that are very good. Wore them yesterday and easter sunday on pymy and they worked great. very lightweight and packable. The pants have zippers all the way up so they are very easy to put on. keep you completely dry and dry out quickly when rain stops. Pack into bag about 6 inches so they dont take up any storage space at all. $80.00 for each piece but worth every cent to me.

My Frog Toggs jacket was pretty nice till I wore it duck hunting twice. Couple of hours around some brush and it's pretty much a sieve now in a steady rain. I'll never buy Frog Toggs again for hunting or fishing.
