Allegheny river clarity and level.

Allegheny river clarity and level.

Taking the boat out tommorrow. Either the Allegheny Lock 4 or 5. How is the clarity and level. Is it worth going out. Other option is Crooked Creek. Anyone fishing these waters with success lately?

    Water is still pretty high, but the visibility is decent.  I prefer to be in the boat over the shore any day and it still needs to come down quite a bit before I would consider putting the boat in.  The water is still pretty snotty up by the dams and I would recommend avoiding that area if you decide to put the boat in the river.

    I would call Crooked Creek to be sure that the road to the launch is open, It was closed due to high water most of the spring.Also I heard that they were not putting in the docks this year. Also the road to the beach was closed quite a bit this year. sam

    was there saturday road still closed, boat ramp flooded.

    Crooked creek launch is open. Docks are not in but will be eventually.
