Cool. I dig the Gold Scale Tiger and the Gold Chicken Wing. Have you ever done a mirrored or chrome finish?

Cowboy...I did an experimental foil on a junk lure I had. Those holographic lures are done with a decal...its not difficult, but takes more time. To get the shiny chrome look, they need to either be dipped or decaled on a lure...no spray paint unfortunately. Here is the foil I did.

Thats nice. I have no idea how this is done, so this might be a stupid question, but what is the honeycomb-type pattern that is under the paint? I suspected that the hologram was a sticker because it chips kind of like that if you bang it off a rock...

On my lure re-paints or on lures like the Renosky's?? If you're asking about the scale pattern on my lures, that is simply painted through various mesh netting I use...the Renosky lure is a molded plastic lure with that honeycomb pattern in the mold.

I meant on your lures. You spray through mesh netting to get the scale pattern... I was always wondering how that was done...

Yep...I have about 10 different scale patterns that I use....Its pretty simple and very effective to give the lures that realistic "fishy" look.

I use the Iwata HPc Skip....I'm looking into a low pressure fine detail brush now. Thanks for the compliments...Some airbrush work might look good on some of those rods you build Loomis.

I really like the Erie Special but they all look like fish catchers. Nice work. Many years ago I carved up a bunch of perch that are half a fish to hang on a wall. I think they range in size from about 10 inches to 14 inches. I never did find anyone to paint them. Can you give me an estimate what it would cost to get a couple painted if you are willing to try it? You can either reply here or through a PM.

Wow,you do great work. Thats something I've been wanting to try for awile now. I have a cheap airbrush I want to practice with before I invest in a good one. How do you prep for paint, primer on wood lures, just a light sanding on plastic ones? Thanks for sharing.

The repaints are easy...I just scuff sand them, clean with alcohol/water mixture and base coat with white. On new builds with wood...the process is a bit more work...You need to seal the wood first after it is well sanded. Different people use different products. Some use sanding sealer, others use devcon and epoxy coats to seal the wood. But sealing the wood is a must, to keep moisture out. I always start with a base coat of white on everything which makes the colors more brilliant. I'm currently in the process of developing a muskie crankbait and I eventually also want to make some walleye trolling baits both shallow and deep. Appreciate all the kind words...

Currently charging $3 a lure (walleye size). Some guys doing custom work out in OH are charging upwards of 6 or 7 bucks a lure. My price is fair.

I'd say more than fair, you're probably making 50 cents an hour about what Tom Corbett thinks you should. I'll get a handfull to you sometime.
