BY Park
Anyone fish this? It's pretty local to me but I've only fished it one time in the dead of the heat last summer. All I caught were the beers that a buddy was passing me. Anyone fish this with any luck? I saw some monsterous carp swimming around out by the fountain.

I never had luck and probably never will at BY. Drive a few extra miles to Boston and hit the river. You will be glad you did

I took my boy out there several times when I lived on that side of town. Ton of (extremely) small bluegills - we're talking #14 hook - they were tough for him to catch. I saw a lot of catfish pulled out - I think they actually stock them, but I never fished for them. Caught most of the gills near the pier and most of the cats I saw caught were directly across the lake from there.

Yeah carp in the shallow end channel cats in the deep end. That's about it, there's a few bass. Small gills and crappie also. They used to put some perch in, too. But haven't really fished it since some guys were yelling at me for taking some gills for cat bait. They said the lake is for kids and u can't keep ne thing, but there's no signs posted about it.. Only worth it for cats and carp. I've caught a few 20"+ channels on liver but no monsters, but they were all released, so you never know. Worth wetting a line if turtle creek is blown out I guess. I've also heard the carp like bread there.

Never caught a trout there myself. Anyone know who actually stocks that lake? Is it pfbc? Is it c&r only?

Not sure myself. I know there is trout at the municiple building in Harrison City, but again not sure who stocks it. It gets fished real hard all summer long being right there at the ball fields. I was young, but if I remember correctly BY was closed to the public for a number of years?

Atta boy! That's one thing you don't have to carry back out.

Well this was something that i was told by a life-long resident of trafford. And as far as i remember him telling me, it was a private club that supposedly stocked the trout. This may have been one of them "they only stocked it a year or two deals"???

I could be wrong, but I think the Turtle Creek Watershed was the group that stocked BY.

I knew about the goose poop. It's not all that far from me either. I'm trying to find a lake that has pavement around it so the g/f can rollerblade or run around it while I'm fishing. I know Indian Lake does but that's a drive.

Where's Mammouth at? I'm in the monroeville area so it might not be that bad for me.

familiar with where the sheetz on Rt. 48 is? The one right by Mcdaine's driving range? If you do then it's right there next to Turtle Creek. If you don't know that area then it's in between Pitcarin, Monroeville, and Trafford. Can't think of a better way to explain it than that.

Went there today. There was a ton of people fishing. Saw a guy pull out a nice channel, another with a nice carp, and I caught a 23" channel myself. It nearly pulled my Ugly Stick straight into the water before I can grab it. And of course the young kiddies were catching bluegill all over the place.
