DuUd, Everyone quit hunting cause there ain't no deer, and took up fishing. You'd be stressed out too if you was a fish.

I catch and release mostly unless it's a tasty fish that I'm going to cook up later (perch, walleye, crappie, trout) I can see both sides of the argument and I don't like to bash people but what I will say is the way some people catch and release they would be better off just keeping them. If you are going to release the fish you shouldn't handle it or even take it out the water. You also should be fishing with gear that will allow you to land the fish relatively quickly so you don't tire/stress it out. I'm not saying I do all these myself but if you are going to take the I'm holier than thou art stance you should be doing everything you can to ensure that fish will not only live but thrive long after you've called it the day/night.

i dont understand why your so worried about it you released 56 if for some reason they all lived after you released them then you gave someone else the chance to catch those 56 whats the big deal if you see someone with 5 on the stringer they paid for their liscense they have every right to keep those fish without anybody getting mad about it

He's not the only one. We walked with some guy who was talking to us so we fished with him and lo and behold he catches 5 in about 5 minutes and leaves put them in a Giant Eagle shopping bag. It just makes me mad. And as soon as June rolls around fish start disappearing out of the delayed harvests

and DUUD we have SO have Gone over this issue, time after time.

whether or not, its the First time for someone new- the battle lines are drawn, the proponents of each side are "firm" and there is going to very little enlightening discussion. (except for the possibility of a nice pic).

your right I COULD ignore it, but then it is a little fun to see you rumble... just don't be too full of yourself. your unlikely to share something that I haven't seen in a zillion similar threads in the past.

JUST sayin'

So another guy catches 5 in as many minutes and LEAVES....totally his right to fish that way....I wish you could see that.

Maybe you should simply find a secluded mountain stream where you will be not so likely to have to endure us common soulless "killers"...save yourself so much trauma....

i almost always practice catch and release, about the only time i keep fish is if i hook a fish deeply and it's gonna die. i got no problem with anybody that keeps fish just as long as they are going to eat the fish they catch or use them for bait for bigger fish. what bothers me are the people that keep fish just because they can, or people that just keep fish so they can give them away to other people. also, just because you can keep a limit of fish doesnt mean that you should. for instance the limit for panfish on most bodies of water is 50 per day, nobody really needs to keep that many fish. if every angler kept a limit of fish every time out it wouldnt be long before every stream and lake was fished out.

I fish mostly DHALO and DHFFO areas, but when I fish a bait section it doesn't bother me when people keep fish. They bought a license, they are entitled to 5 a day while in season. What does bother me is when I hear the same people complaining about their not being any fish.
