tadpoles

Has anyone used the precision trolling tadpole system locally for walleye?

    has anyone ever used tadpoles for fishing bait?

    I haven't used the tadpoles, did see them being used on a show last weekend...
    Mark Romanack's Fishing 411 (not sure if spelled correctly)
    The episode may be available online for viewing

    this looks like a very similar system to a weighted diver that we do use in the Chesapeake bay, they are simple and easy to use.
    What I didn't see on the episode, is what depths they achieve, though I would think they should have more info available on that from a manufacturers website.
    Treefarmer, if you do get them, post a review... I'd be interested to see how they do for you.

    Looks pretty simple and reliable, not directional though. Think I'll stick with dipsy's and riggers, at least until the "gotta have it's" kick in...

    I think not being directional is a good thing.  And remember, they can be weighted...just like anything else. 
    They are gonna kill in mass quantities!

    not directional though


    they were using them behind inline planers on the show... so the directional thing can be a drawback if you aren't using them with another system...

    now if you are only running 2 or 4 lines off your boat, you would be OK if you had different rod lengths to keep them spread out...

    ...until you made a turn!  They might just come in looking like a giant brillo pad!
