Fishing near Wexford ?

Is there anywhere to fish near the Wexford/Cranberry area? Followed a couple so called fishing hot spots off PFBC website. One place looked like it had sewage pouring into the Ohio and the other was a creek about 5 feet wide. Im not looking for spots, just a starting point.

I prefer fishing creeks for trout or smallmouth but anything close will do. Just looking for a peaceful stretch of water near the area that I can hit when the mood strikes me.

Delayed Harvest areas on Pine or Deer Creek would probably be the closest. Check here for directions: http://pfbc.state.pa.us/pfbc_webgis/TroutStockingDetails.aspx

Glade Run Lake just off of 228 in Middlesex Twp is about 15 minutes from Cranberry. Usually not too crowded on weekdays.

There are some smallmouth in Conquenessing creek if you look for them.  Follow it downstream from Cranberry/Zelionople and look in the rapids and pools in between the carp water - a little later in the season.  I don't think it's much for trout, at least not in that area.

    Hey Rainbow
Don't overlook slippery rock creek, I like the area at Mcconnells Mills. About 20 minutes from cranberry, If that long. Not a lot of preasure during the week. Water flow is good and you feel a bit like your miles form nowhere.
    Good Luck
